Bettane & Desseauve
"Complex on the palate, lovely ripe yet fresh fruit, spicy finish, notes of strong licorice and tobacco. We noticed this mid-range wine for its balance and complexity. (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2015). A great symbiosis of blueberry and velvety chocolate nuances, carried by a real freshness: a great vintage!

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2014 guide) 15,5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2025 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About wine:
Complex palate, lovely ripe yet fresh fruit, spicy finish, notes of strong licorice and tobacco. We noticed this mid-range wine for its balance and complexity.
About the estate:
We admire the energy and healthy ambition of sisters Diane and Constance, who energetically run L'Engarran (50 hectares), scattered around an 18th-century folly. Diane, in charge of winemaking, strives for precision. The style highlights the great maturity of the grapes, which makes the wines opulent, with improvements in the quality of the tannins, which are finer and rounder.

About the estate:
Ch. de l'Engarran is an 18th-century Montpellier "folly" listed in the National Inventory of Historic Monuments. Three generations of women have made this 55-hectare estate one of the most beautiful addresses in Grés de Montpellier and Saint-Georges-d'Orques.
