With its surprising blend of four Hispanic grape varieties, this cuvée is dominated by aromas of red and black berries, reminiscent of blueberries and blackberries. The supple attack heralds a full-bodied palate with very silky tannins. Its roundness and volume are complemented by a powerful finish with balanced menthol notes. A red wine not to be missed!

Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

This beautiful estate comprises 18 hectares of vineyards spread across small plots located in Bize, in the Minervois des Causses region, the foothills of the Montagne Noire, and at the northeastern edge of the appellation. It is an estate that is truly on the rise. The winemaking process is moving towards gentler and less aggressive extraction, resulting in wines with greater fruit precision and freshness balance. This makes them enjoyable to drink, delicious and pleasant, while retaining the estate's trademark tension and vitality. In addition to these Minervois wines, there is a range of particularly well-made IGP Aude wines, with names that obviously relate to the estate.

Rated estate (2021 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Established in 2002 by four partners, all wine enthusiasts from Saumur, Le Loup Blanc offers Minervois wines blended from Languedoc grape varieties. Work in the vineyard focused immediately on organic and biodynamic agriculture. Each cuvée has its own distinct character: there are wines to be enjoyed for their fruitiness, but also fine cuvées for aging. The property has two comfortable and tastefully decorated cottages.
