This “curiosity” wine, made exclusively from very ripe Petit Verdot grapes, was not aged in oak. Rich and full-bodied, it reveals notes of very ripe red and black berries, blended with subtle hints of humus and aromas of violet-scented licorice (Zan bleu). It can, of course, be enjoyed right now, but it will undoubtedly delight patient wine lovers for several years to come.

It's probably a good wine, but not for me.

A pure Petit Verdot—this is the first time I’ve had the chance to taste this wine, which often serves as a foil to many great Bordeaux wines, on its own! Deep black color with beautiful brilliance. The nose offers blueberry and a hint of aniline. A very lovely, full-bodied palate with blueberry notes, good length, and non-aggressive tannins. After the initial attack, there’s a certain vegetal bitterness that isn’t off-putting. Conclusion: A lovely southern wine with 14.5% alcohol that remains fresh and stands out for its balance and a lovely sense of fullness. A superbly crafted wine with a wide range of serving possibilities. Serve at 16°
