Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Since 1998, Xavier Braujou has built a fine reputation with his estate located north of Montpellier, near Aniane. Production is unfortunately limited, but it is one of those cherished spots that people pass along by word of mouth. Here, one can enjoy truly exceptional wines, such as the three reds tasted this year. Old vines, minimal yields, and meticulous work result in varietal wines that rank among the very best of Languedoc.

Rated wine (2025 guide) 93/100 Favorite
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
Pradeloup, made from young Cinsault vines, is already a wine of great flavor, with its lively acidity, smooth texture, and citrus notes.
About the estate:
The son of a winemaker, Xavier Braujou has been building his estate since 1998, which spans Aniane and Saint-Jean-de-Fos. This solitary and determined artisan winemaker, a former lumberjack, crafts wines of great character, the result of immense labor on old goblet-trained vines with very low yields, averaging around 20 hl/ha. His guiding principle can be summed up in two words: finesse and freshness. Far from the constraints of the appellation, he has always worked with single-varietal wines and blends his different terroirs. Extraction is very gentle, aging is long, and the wines never see new oak. A hidden gem and essential destination, prized by discerning wine lovers and top sommeliers alike. The exceptional quality observed over several vintages leads us to award him the second star without hesitation.
