Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated 89/100 (2020 vintage)

Rated estate (2026 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

We admire the energy and healthy ambition of the two sisters, Diane and Constance, who dynamically manage L'Engarran (50 hectares), scattered around an 18th-century folly. Diane, who oversees winemaking, strives for precision. The style highlights the grapes’ high level of ripeness, resulting in opulent wines, with improvements in the quality of the tannins, which are finer and rounder.

About the estate:

The Château de l'Engarran is an 18th-century “folly” in Montpellier, listed on the National Inventory of Historic Monuments. Three generations of women have turned this 55-hectare estate into one of the most beautiful destinations in the Grés de Montpellier and Saint-Georges-d'Orques regions.
