“One of the most remarkable wines from the Terrasses du Larzac”

L’Etincelle is a white blend made primarily from Chenin, which gives it exceptional freshness for a southern wine. It displays great character and intensity thanks to low yields, which enhance the mineral expression of the limestone-rich terroir. Perfect for summer!

Rated estate (2026 guide) 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

Rigor and care, intelligence and precision, along with a clear vision of what makes a great wine, have propelled the reds of the talented Vincent Goumard to the top. They embodied an exemplary classicism that never veered toward austerity. The evolution toward a stunning sensuality, without losing any of these qualities, marks the culmination of a cycle dominated by precision and refined tannins. The whites are also progressing, notably with a cuvée that sparkles with freshness. New for 2020: the entire range is now bottled in Burgundy-style bottles.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 93/100 (2024 vintage)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

After initially working in consulting, Vincent and Isabelle Goumard took over this beautiful estate in 2004, which had been founded in the early 1990s by Jean-Pierre Jullien. Although they had previously visited some twenty vineyards in Languedoc and Roussillon, they were captivated by the power of this place, nestled in the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac. The couple quickly demonstrated the full extent of their talent, with a keen understanding of their vineyard plots and geological variations, a deep respect for the vines, and exacting standards in winemaking. Over the years, their style has refined, producing wines that are increasingly delicate and complex, with elegant structure and magnificent aging potential. Mas Cal Demoura is undoubtedly one of the region’s leading estates. Following an interesting but somewhat underwhelming 2021 vintage, the estate has produced superb 2022 wines. A third star is clearly within reach.
