"Seductive!"

"On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of blond tobacco and licorice, supported by notes of garrigue. On the palate, the wine is slender, held together by beautiful, noble, and well-integrated tannins. The finish remains balanced and spicy." (La RVF 2023)

Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100

Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About wine:

Made from Carignan grapes with 30% Grenache and 30% Syrah, this wine is perfectly ripe. It has a fresh finish thanks to the vines planted at an altitude of 200 meters in the Agly Valley.

About the estate:

Pierre Fabre is a jack of all trades: former director of a large packaging company and artist in his spare time, in 2004 he returned to the passion that had shaped his childhood, wine growing. He took over the Château de Gaure in the Limoux region and added other vineyards to create an estate covering around 50 hectares. Investing heavily in the vineyard and the winery, he produces wines of great purity, leaving a small amount of residual sugar in his white Limoux wine named after the château. This makes for wonderful food pairings, but the other white wines are vinified dry, such as the beautiful Chenin cuvée, Alderica, and Oppidum. The reds are very fresh, with an extra touch of finesse in the tannins of the Cuvée Pour-mon-père.

Wine noted (guide 2023) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Mentioned (Successful wine)

About wine:

Indigenous yeasts and barrel aging are on the menu for this Grenache-dominated blend. On the nose, a delightful marriage of vanilla and fruity notes. This harmony is reflected on the palate, which is generous, smooth and fresh, with subtle oak and equally relaxed tannins. The indulgent chocolate finish adds to the pleasure. Best enjoyed young.

About the estate:

Coming from a long line of Languedoc winegrowers, Pierre Fabre, after a career in other professions, bought this 63-hectare property in 2005, which he converted to organic and biodynamic farming in 2018.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100

Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About wine:

On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of blond tobacco and licorice, supported by notes of garrigue. On the palate, the wine is slender, held together by beautiful, noble, and well-integrated tannins. The finish remains balanced and spicy.

About the estate:

Belgian industrialist Pierre Fabre realized his dream in 2004 when he purchased a vineyard tucked away on the border between Limouxin and Malepère, near the village of Cépie, followed by several plots in Roussillon (in the Latour-de-France area). Now a winemaker-artist (he designs his own labels), Pierre Fabre has committed to organic and biodynamic farming practices to allow biodiversity to flourish. The vineyards are surrounded by fields and forests in an exceptional setting.
