Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2019 guide) 15,5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2025 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Camille Izarn, now supported by her husband Ulrich, produces wines that are all highly recommended. The estate is in good hands following the accidental death of her father, the late Jean-François Izarn. Terres Blanches is an entry-level wine that looks like a top-of-the-range wine and is well worth seeking out. The Les Schistes cuvée has great aging potential, while Les Crès is grown on Villefranchien pebble soils. Midi-Rouge, in the Saint Chinian Roquebrun appellation, is the most ambitious cuvée from this estate, which has been biodynamic since 1998.

Rated wine (2018 guide) Cité (Successful wine)
Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About wine:
A delicious, fresh wine with floral (violet) and fruity (strawberry, raspberry, blackberry) notes, supple and elegant on the palate.
About the estate:
A 20-hectare estate run since 1998 (organically and biodynamically) by Jean-François Izarn, a proponent of gentle vinification using indigenous yeasts, respectful of the environment and the terroir. This highly regarded winemaker, recognized and appreciated by his peers, passed away prematurely in 2014. His wife Cathy brilliantly took over before passing the baton to their daughter Camille.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 14,5-15/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2025 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About wine:
Here we find excellent concentration, balanced, full-bodied flesh, without any hollows, heaviness, or softness.
About the estate:
Camille has been rooted in the estate's 60 hectares of holm oaks, scrubland, and vineyards since she was a child. While she was starting her career as a journalist in Paris, fate brought her back to the heart of the family vineyard in 2014, after the death of her father, the charismatic Jean-François Izarn. The young woman has since proven herself, continuing to express the geological diversity of her area, to the east of the appellation, in her various vintages. With the help of Ulrich, her partner who is passionate about agronomy, and her mother, who is always by her side, Camille is promoting new projects, such as the construction of a wine library and the planting of vines for a new vintage that will be released in 2024.
