Notes: RVF 16/20, Robert Parker 89-90/100
"The beautiful Les Perrières 2008 is precise, straightforward, chalky, and built for aging." ( Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - RVF Guide). Les Perrières comes from a vineyard that is over 70 years old, on magnificent clay-siliceous mid-slope terroir. The consistency due to low yields produces a straightforward, chalky wine with good aging potential. A jewel in the estate's crown!

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

For more than two decades, Catherine and Pierre Breton and their son Paul have been demonstrating that organic wine in Touraine can reach great heights while remaining reasonably priced. Their long macerations allow the velvety texture to complement the purity of fruit in all their wines. The Bourgueil vintages, which cover 10 hectares, regularly feature in our blind tastings. Trinch is a straightforward wine, and the great vintages must be decanted 2 to 3 hours before serving to bring out the juiciness of Nuits-d'Ivresse, the purity of Pierres and the chalky touch of Clos-Sénéchal. One of the most refreshing addresses in the Loire, to be discovered without restraint!

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

For more than twenty years, Catherine and Pierre Breton have been successfully making their mark in organic wine production in Touraine. Their son Paul has joined them at the estate and is responsible for vinifying the Pierres Rousses Vouvray, among others. The very fine, soft tannins resulting from long maceration are evident in the delicious, easy-drinking Trinch and Avis de Vin Fort cuvées, which contain little sulfur and are intended to be drunk young. The terroir wines (Clos Sénéchal, Les Perrières and Nuits d'Ivresse, made from Grand-Mont and Busardières vines), which are more intense, have never shown as much finesse and precision as in the latest vintages, while retaining a slightly wild character that gives them great depth. They also age very well.
