Domaine Pierre Sourdais

The Pierre Sourdais estate, created in the early 1980s from 8 hectares, is a family-run property managed with talent and passion, and is one of the great names in the Chinon region.

Today, Domaine Pierre Sourdais has 27 hectares of vines, exclusively Cabernet Franc, some of which are over 60 years old, cultivated organically and certified since 2012. The gravelly terraces on the banks of the Vienne River provide this grape variety with a unique environment that produces wines dominated by fruit and drinkability. These gravel pits are complemented by plots on clay-limestone or flint-clay slopes and plateaus (Pallus, les Pentes, les Cornuelles, les Boulais and le Moulin à Tan), which give Pierre Sourdais wines their structure and character.

At Domaine Pierre Sournais, soil cultivation has always been a priority, and the choice of organic farming is a natural extension of this. Pierre Sourdais' Chinon wines have patiently built their reputation on the remarkable quality of their grapes and exemplary production standards.
