Cour-Cheverny
The Cour-Chevernyvineyard is located in the Loir-et-Cher region and covers around sixty hectares spread across 11 municipalities.
This AOC, officially recognized by the INAO in 1993, produces only white wines from Romorantin, a white grape variety grown exclusively in this appellation and derived from a cross between Pinot Noir and Gouais. Not to be confused with the much larger AOC Cheverny, which produces white, red, and rosé wines.
Thanks to sand-covered limestone soils, Cour-Cheverny wines are dry and lively in their youth and develop aromas of honey, quince, and lime blossom after a few years in the cellar. Produced from carefully controlled yields and harvested at optimal ripeness, Romorantin grapes give this wine an elegant and sought-after style.
