Cour-Cheverny
The Cour-Chevernyvineyard is located in the Loir-et-Cher region and covers approximately 60 hectares spread across 11 municipalities.
This AOC, officially recognized by the INAO in 1993, produces only white wines made from Romorantin, a white grape variety grown exclusively within this appellation and derived from a cross between Pinot Noir and Gouais. It should not be confused with the much larger Cheverny AOC, which produces white, red, and rosé wines.
Thanks to sandy limestone soils, Cour-Cheverny wines are dry and lively when young and develop aromas of honey, quince, and linden blossom after a few years in the cellar. Grown with controlled yields and harvested at optimal ripeness, the Romorantin grape lends this wine an elegant and refined character.
