“Citrus on the nose, with a sleek, well-defined palate.” (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2016) With a bouquet typical of Sauvignon Blanc, a taut yet full-bodied palate, and a briny finish, this white Menetou-Salon is a fine expression of its terroir.

A citrusy nose, with a sleek and refined palate.
About the estate:
Philippe Gilbert is a winemaker of great integrity; for the past few vintages, he has been working as naturally as possible. The estate has just opened a wine bar, Le Fluteau, where guests can enjoy wines from the estate as well as those from fellow winemakers.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2016 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
Owner Philippe Gilbert has relied on the guidance of oenologist Jean-Philippe Louis since the estate’s quality revival twelve years ago. It is largely thanks to him that the vineyard was converted to biodynamic farming (Biodyvin certification). The Renardières cuvées are made from the oldest Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc vines. The whites have gained depth and a mineral-driven finish in recent vintages. After a period of pronounced oak influence, the reds have developed finesse without losing their maturity, and are gradually gaining in precision.
