It pairs well with shellfish, crab, langoustines, lobster, etc. After two years in the bottle, it is better suited to fish in sauce and spicier dishes.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2016 guide) 15,5/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
The fineness of the sand and sandstone refines the character in Les Houx, which is more complex.
About the estate:
Jo Landron's vintages have become benchmarks in the small family of terroir Muscadets. The winemaker with the legendary moustache has breathed new life into the white melon grape. What Muscadet lover is not familiar with the invigorating Amphibolite vintage? The other wines, boosted by the switch to biodynamics in 2011, sensitively convey this beautiful identity. From a plot of undulating orthogneiss and quartz, Le Fief du Breil embodies a luminous expression of umami flavor, carried by its 36 months of aging. A wine with extraordinary saline depth that asserts itself with age. Jo has officially handed over the reins to his daughter Hélène and her partner Nicolas Chaurois. Let's salute the career of this extraordinary winemaker, whose wines are among the most delicious and moving in Muscadet.
