It pairs well with shellfish, crabs, langoustines, and lobsters... After two years in the bottle, it will pair better with fish in sauce and spicier dishes.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
Clos La Carizière is at the top of its game: a wine brimming with vibrancy, carried by wonderful mineral notes. Like the rest of the range, it evokes a special emotion and stimulates the salivary glands.
About the estate:
Jo Landron’s wines have become benchmarks in the small family of terroir-driven Muscadets. The winemaker with the legendary mustache has breathed new life into the Melon Blanc grape. What Muscadet lover isn’t familiar with the invigorating Amphibolite? The other wines, enhanced by the transition to biodynamic farming in 2011, sensitively convey this beautiful identity. Hailing from a plot of undulating orthogneiss and quartz terrain, Le Fief du Breil embodies a luminous expression of umami flavor, shaped by its 36-month aging. A wine with extraordinary saline depth that gains character with age. Jo has officially handed the reins to his daughter Hélène and her partner Nicolas Chaurois. Let us salute the career of this extraordinary winemaker, whose wines are among the most flavorful and moving in Muscadet.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on March 19, 2026
Clean and elegant, this Muscadet bursts with intensity, revealing notes of lemon, lemongrass, and valerian that blend with a vibrant energy underpinned by crisp, mineral bitterness. Lively, straightforward, and dense, it unfolds with a silky, crystal-clear texture accented by briny notes, leading to a refreshing, crystal-clear finish. A Muscadet of this caliber is quite rare. It should therefore be enjoyed with seafood dishes, such as sea urchins from the Côte Bleue, especially since it is peak season and a time of celebration throughout the Mediterranean. Rating = 4.3.
