Domaines Landron - Haute Tradition 2011
15,5/20
RVF
Haute Tradition is the perfect result of the combination of quartz-rich soil, Melon de Bourgogne grapes, and a dedicated winemaker. After nearly a year of aging on the lees, this cuvée offers both substance and balance, with a lively attack. It would benefit from a bit of cellaring to reveal smoky and spicy notes.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
Haute Tradition reaffirms its status as a top-tier wine [...] with a 2011 vintage of great depth.
About the estate:
Jo Landron’s wines have become benchmarks in the small family of terroir-driven Muscadets. The winemaker with the legendary mustache has breathed new life into the white melon grape. What Muscadet lover isn’t familiar with the invigorating Amphibolite? The other wines, enhanced by the transition to biodynamic farming in 2011, sensitively capture this beautiful identity. Hailing from a plot of undulating orthogneiss and quartz, Le Fief du Breil embodies a luminous expression of umami flavor, shaped by its 36-month aging. A wine with extraordinary saline depth that gains character with age. Jo has officially handed the reins to his daughter Hélène and her partner Nicolas Chaurois. Let us salute the career of this extraordinary winemaker, whose wines are among the most flavorful and moving in Muscadet.
