Touraine Amboise

The Touraine-Amboise AOC is part of the Touraine AOC. The vineyards are located across 9 municipalities on both banks of the Loire River, upstream from Tours and near the town of Amboise, covering 170 hectares. Grown on two types of soil—clay-limestone and clay-siliceous—the region enjoys a temperate oceanic climate influenced by the continent. For white wines, Chenin Blanc produces dry, off-dry, or sweet wines. Red and rosé wines are generally made from Gamay, but there are also blends suitable for medium-term aging with a high proportion of Cabernet and Côt.
