Domaine du Clos Naudin
The Domaine du Clos Naudin is a century-old family-run estate now led by Philippe Foreau, an iconic figure in the Vouvray appellation. His philosophy? “Drinking wine is more than just taking a sip; it’s pondering the mysteries of its flavor, understanding its origin, its grape variety, and its soil—it’s understanding the climatic conditions it has experienced.” A passionate winemaker who lavishes care on his vines and his land.

Aware of the importance of terroir, the Domaine du Clos Naudin’s primary goal is to respect the microbial life of the soil. Like his grandfather and father before him, Philippe Foreau remains committed to traditional methods and organic principles in cultivating his 12 hectares, located on the lower slopes and averaging 37 years of age. Weed control is carried out mechanically using conventional plowing, thereby avoiding chemical herbicides that are harmful to the soil, the environment, and human health. Fertilizer applications are moderate and of organic origin. No insecticides are used. Vines are pruned short, yielding an average of approximately 38 hl/ha. The grapes are harvested by hand to prevent any crushing. Winemaking is carried out exclusively using the yeasts naturally present on the grape skins, in 300-liter barrels with a maximum of 5% new oak each year.

Aromatic purity, typicity, finesse, elegance, balance, and a long finish… These are just some of the goals pursued by Domaine du Clos Naudin in the production of its wines.
