Domaine du Clos Naudin
Domaine du Clos Naudin is a century-old family estate now run by Philippe Foreau, an iconic figure in the Vouvray appellation. His motto? "Drinking wine is more than just taking a sip; it’s pondering the mysteries of its flavor, understanding its origin, its grape variety, its soil, and the climatic conditions it has experienced." A passionate winemaker who cares deeply for his vines and his land.

Aware that the concept of terroir is crucial, the primary goal of Domaine du Clos Naudin is to respect the microbial life of the soil. Like his grandfather and father before him, Philippe Foreau remains committed to traditional methods and organic principles for cultivating his 12 hectares, located on the lower slopes and averaging 37 years of age. Weed control is carried out mechanically through conventional plowing, thereby avoiding chemical herbicides that are harmful to the soil, the environment, and human health. Fertilizer use is moderate and organic. No insecticides are used. Pruning is light, resulting in an average yield of around 38 hl/ha. Harvesting is done by hand to prevent any crushing of the grapes. Vinification is carried out exclusively with the yeasts present on the grape skins, in 300-liter barrels with a maximum of 5% new oak each year.

Aromatic purity, typicity, finesse, elegance, balance, and a long finish… These are just some of the goals pursued by Domaine du Clos Naudin in the production of its wines.
