Deep ruby color with an orange rim. On the nose, ripe red and dark fruit—cherries, blackberries, plums, and blackcurrants—as well as pastry dough, vanilla, and spicy notes like nutmeg and cinnamon. On the palate, plenty of juicy and crisp red and dark fruit, including raspberries and red berries. Entirely fruit-driven. Subtle hints of oak aging. Medium body and medium finish with a hint of spice at the end. Not a standout, but a good pairing for meat dishes or “octopus à la plancha.” Score: 15.5/20
