Alves de Sousa

Domingos Alves de Sousa (4th generation), a civil engineer who returned to work at the family estate out of a passion for vines and wine, and his son Tiago (5th generation) now manage the vineyard with passion and expertise, producing wines that are both elegant and complex. 

Widely and globally recognized,Alves de Sousa’s wines have earned the estate the title of “Winemaker of the Year” from “Revista de Vinhos”—the most prestigious distinction for a Portuguese winemaker. Alves de Sousa holds the distinction of being the first estate in history to receive this award twice, in 1999 and 2006.
