Alves de Sousa

Domingos Alves de Sousa (4th generation), a civil engineer who returned to work on the family estate because of his passion for vines and wine, and his son Tiago (5th generation) now run the vineyard with passion and expertise, producing elegant and complex wines. 

Widely and globally recognized,Alves de Sousa wines have earned the estate the title of "Winemaker of the Year" by Revista de Vinhos, the most prestigious distinction for a Portuguese winemaker. Alves de Sousa has the distinction of being the first estate in history to receive this award twice, in 1999 and 2006.
