"Deep and fragrant, this red also finds a lot of tension in its oak aging. A sanguine and vigorous approach to a Mourvèdre that will prove very digestible in the bottle. (RVF Special Vintage 2013 - June 2014) This is a quality Bandol, produced according to the rules and style imposed by the Ott family since they acquired the estate in 1956. Not to be missed!

Rated estate (2023 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

A prominent family in Provençal wine, the Otts entered the wine industry by acquiring Château de Selle in 1912, Clos Mireille in 1930, and Domaine Romassan in 1956. Taken over by the Roederer group in 2004, the wine business continues under the leadership of Christian and Jean-François, the Ott cousins, proving that the family remains very involved and is still a shareholder. The finest vintages are all rosés and remain, with admirable consistency, among the most successful in Provence.

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About wine:

On the nose, this Bandol develops delicate aromas of black fruits, spices, and toast. Equally subtle and airy, the palate is characterized by elegant aging and silky, mellow tannins. Enjoyable now, but also has aging potential.

About the estate:

Originally from Alsace, the Ott family settled in Provence in 1896 and acquired Romassan in 1956 (70 hectares at the foot of Le Castellet in the Bandol appellation). They also own Ch. de Selle and Clos Mireille in Côtes-de-Provence. Two AOCs and a unique bottle, inspired by Roman amphorae. The estate (part of the Roederer group since 2004) is run by cousins Christian and Jean-François Ott.

About wine:

Deep and fragrant, this red wine also develops considerable tension during its aging in oak barrels. A bold and vigorous approach to Mourvèdre that will prove very drinkable once bottled.
