“This Bandol rosé has exceptional aging potential; a wine to discover and rediscover year after year!”

“The 2023 Bandol Rosé from Domaine Terrebrune exudes aromas of spices, grapefruit, pomegranate, red berries, and rose petals, followed by a medium-bodied to full-bodied palate that is supple and enveloping, taut and crystalline, with a long, delicate, and enticing finish. It is a fragrant and refined Bandol rosé.” (Wine Advocate 2024)

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95/100

4-Star Rated Estate (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

A terroir within a terroir—that sums up Terrebrune, a cherished estate led by the joint management of Reynald Delille and Jean d'Arthuis. Located in Ollioules, this estate near the Mediterranean balances the sea mist with first-rate limestone soil. No muscle, no overly intense color, but wines imbued with sensitivity, which deserve to be given time to express themselves through their aromas. More recently, it has been Julien Paul, a brilliant technical director, who has helped the trio assert itself and refined Terrebrune’s precious character. The 2019 vintage stands at the pinnacle of refined, elegant Bandols.

This bright and full-bodied 2023 Bandol impresses with its enveloping, delicate texture, bursting with flavors of crushed strawberries, apricots, and spices, and unfolds with great freshness and beautiful volume toward an equally indulgent finish enhanced by a hint of brininess. Although young, this refined and distinguished rosé has already been a huge hit paired with bouillabaisse. Rating = 4.5.

A beautiful Bandol rosé. A melon-pink hue reminiscent of the region’s melons. Nose: Immediate notes of garrigue, Mediterranean influences, melon, spice, earthiness, and terroir. Layered and complex. On the palate, everything is repeated: plenty of body, spiciness, salinity, coating, powerful yet elegant. Layered and complex here as well. Long finish. This is not a patio rosé (though I would drink it there too ????), but a serious wine that I’ll be serving with my homemade fish soup later. Score: 17.5/20
