Domaines Ott - Clos Mireille - Blanc de Blancs Côtes de Provence blanc 2023
95/100

"A must-try white wine from Provence!"
With an unparalleled terroir overlooking the sea, the Clos Mireille vineyards benefit from the warmth of the Côte d'Azur and the sea mist—ideal conditions for the growth of Sémillon and Rolle. These grapes develop fruity aromas of yellow melon and lemon zest combined with floral notes of jasmine and acacia, enhanced by a hint of broom. A white wine with a silky, velvety texture, balancing purity with aromatic complexity.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
A prominent family in the world of Provençal wine, the Otts entered the wine industry by acquiring Château de Selle in 1912, Clos Mireille in 1930, and Domaine Romassan in 1956. Taken over by the Roederer Group in 2004, the winery continues to operate under the leadership of Christian and Jean-François, the Ott cousins, proof that the family remains deeply involved and, in fact, is still a shareholder. The finest vintages are all rosés and, with admirable consistency, remain among the most successful in Provence.

About the estate:
Originally from Alsace, the Ott family settled in Provence in 1896 and acquired Romassan in 1956 (70 hectares at the foot of Le Castellet in the Bandol appellation); they also own Château de Selle and Clos Mireille in Côtes-de-Provence. Two AOCs and a distinctive bottle, inspired by the Roman amphora. The estate (part of the Champagne house Roederer since 2004) is run by cousins Christian and Jean-François Ott.
