"Great value for the money"

“Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre blend beautifully in this wine, which is dark in color but bright on the nose, with crisp notes of grenadine and blackcurrant. It is equally delightful on the palate, with a full-bodied, round attack, a warm mid-palate, and an abundance of jammy fruit, tightened on the finish by well-balanced tannins. Powerful, rich, and well-rounded, the jury succumbs to the charm of La Galante.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)

Wine rated (2019 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2019 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the wine:

With a silky texture that remains consistent throughout, its aromas of dark fruit, spices, garrigue, and licorice lead to a long, finely structured finish.

About the estate:

Christèle Plantevin loves cooking and wine. She initially pursued a different career path before returning to Cairanne to take over this family estate, founded in 1902, where the garrigue terroir (red clay subsoil and pebbles on the surface) lends power and complexity to her wines. Limiting yields helps preserve the richness and distinctive character of both the reds and the whites.

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (Remarkable Wine)

Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

Black Grenache and Mourvèdre blend beautifully in this wine, which is dark in color but bright on the nose, with crisp notes of grenadine and blackcurrant. It is equally delightful on the palate, with a full-bodied, round attack, a warm mid-palate, and an abundance of jammy fruit, tightened on the finish by well-balanced tannins. Powerful, rich, and well-rounded, the jury succumbed to the charm of La Galante.

About the estate:

After spending ten years in marketing for major food companies, Christèle Plantevin returned to the family estate, founded in 1902, in 1997. As the head of 50 ha of vineyards, she represents the fifth generation.

A wine with a distinct character—warm and pleasant to drink. I’d give it 3.5 glasses if I could, but at less than 10 euros, the 4 glasses are well deserved.
