Domaine Mouton Père et Fils - Condrieu Corbery 2023
2* Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"An ultra-refined version of Viognier".
"Named after its locality, the Cuvée Corbery spent 11 months in egg-shaped concrete vats. An uncommon but highly successful method of ageing that proves its worth here, preserving the impeccable freshness of the golden shimmering color and the precision of the bouquet, with its hints of lemon blossom, quince and spices (fenugreek, star anise). Powerful, complex and very round, the palate then becomes taut under the effect of a fine saline vivacity that carries far the honeyed, fruity flavors perceived on olfaction. A rare elegance". About the wine:
A superb double for the domaine in 2023, with two excellent Condrieu wines on the Guide's roster. Named after its locality, the Cuvée Corbery spent 11 months in egg-shaped concrete vats. A rare elegance.
