"Fruits that have a lot to tell us!"

The Sainte-Cécile village appellation is characterized by a predominance of Grenache, which imparts rich notes of red and black fruits. The cuvée from Domaine Martin is no exception to this rule and captivates us with its smoothness and freshness.

Review and comment by Mr. GILLES D. Published on January 23, 2025

A wine of moderate intensity, neither harsh nor heavy—quite the opposite, in fact, with a smooth, generous profile. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, relaxed, and balanced, with a fine, velvety texture centered around the fruit of a dominant, well-ripened Grenache that gives itself freely, framed by subtle spices and a hint of venison. It has a lovely, savory finish. The wine, understated and well-crafted, is quite successful—and, as a bonus, reasonably priced. While waiting for springtime BBQs, this quintessential “friends’ wine” was enjoyed with Provençal-style beef meatballs and spaghetti, where basil and Parmesan joined the party. Rating = 3.9.
