Among Gigondas’s “must-haves,” the Moulin de la Gardette—with its ten hectares—is a charming estate, meticulously managed by Jean-Baptiste Meunier. Nestled between the Saint-Jean terroirs and the Gardette hillside, the old Grenache vines capture the finesse of the calcareous marl. There’s no showboating in the cellar; the estate’s owner exercises perfect control over the oak. For several vintages now, the estate’s wines have displayed remarkable natural character, with a silky texture and well-integrated tannins.
