“The estate’s finest Gigondas, with crisp berries, cranberry, and raspberry. It is fresh, with a hint of volatile acidity that lifts the fruit and an abundance of fine, fresh, and crisp tannins. It finishes with a fresh, slightly salty note. Long and elegant, with plenty of energy, without being overly structured or concentrated. Un-destemmed, fermented in concrete tanks and aged in large oak casks.” (Decanter 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Among Gigondas’s “must-haves,” Moulin de la Gardette and its ten hectares are a charming estate, meticulously managed by Jean-Baptiste Meunier. Nestled between the Saint-Jean terroirs and the Gardette hillside, the old Grenache vines capture the finesse of the calcareous marl. No flashiness in the cellar; the estate’s master craftsman exercises perfect control over the oak. For several vintages now, the estate’s wines have displayed remarkable natural elegance, with a silky texture and well-integrated tannins.
