Château de la Selve - Coteaux de l'Ardèche Petite Selve rouge 2023
"A little fruit bomb, a wine for food-loving friends!"
Château de la Selve surprises us once again with its beauty and, above all, its fruitiness. A red wine with a southern profile but full of freshness. Surprising! A real treat, with fruit, lovely juice, and supple, fine tannins. A very nice wine to share with friends!

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
In the heart of the Ardèche region, Benoît Chazallon and his wife Florence cultivate forty hectares of organic vineyards. The estate has a wide range of grape varieties, all vinified with indigenous yeasts, to produce several cuvées that are bottled without filtration. We particularly enjoyed the wines from the Les Confidentielles range (Florence, L'Audacieuse and Madame de), made exclusively from southern grape varieties.

About the estate:
The medieval castle of La Selve was originally (13th century) a fortified house, then a hunting lodge for the Duke of Joyeuse, before becoming a wine estate (40 hectares today, certified organic). Benoît Chazallon has been at the helm since 2002, following in his parents' footsteps.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
On their Vivarais vineyard, which they have completely restructured themselves, surrounding their 13th-century family fortified castle, Florence and Benoît Chazallon are passionately dedicated to producing tricolor wines that fly the flag for the Ardèche hillsides. The range is divided into two categories: Les Classiques, which are easy to drink and fruity, and Les Confidentielles, which are more ambitious and structured red wines. La Revue du Vin de France named Château de la Selve as its discovery of the year in 2012.
