Coteaux de l'Ardèche

Born from the diverse geology of the Ardèche, the Coteaux de l’Ardèche PGI offers connoisseurs a wide range of elegant and authentic wines that reflect their terroir. The Coteaux de l’Ardèche Protected Geographical Indication covers the southern half of the department. The unique characteristics of each terroir and the variety of grape varieties contribute to distinctive varietal and blended wines. The Maison M. Chapoutier also excels in this appellation.
 
Red Coteaux de l’Ardèche wines are produced using grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Gamay, Pinot, and Chatus—an ancestral variety typical of the Ardèche that produces a highly distinctive and tannic wine. Rosé wines are made from Syrah, Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Finally, white Coteaux de l’Ardèche wines are made from Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Blanc, and Marsanne.
