Viticulture

Traditional tillage. No herbicides used. Pesticide use is kept to a minimum and has been organic since 2011. Certified organic fertilizers.

Winemaking

Crushed and destemmed grapes. Grenache and Syrah are fermented separately using native yeasts. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures, with 2 to 4 rackings at the very start of fermentation, minimal pumping over, and post-fermentation maceration at warm temperatures. The vatting period lasts about 30 days. Aging on fine lees, partly in wooden tanks and partly in concrete tanks.

Livestock farming

12 to 18 months, 50% in truncated-cone wooden vats and 50% in concrete vats.

A powerful nose with notes of red berries

Palate

Fresh and fruity, with notes of cherry and strawberry. Beautiful structure with fine, silky tannins. A lovely, lingering finish that highlights its freshness and finesse.

Trained under the brilliant Alain Paret (whose “Saint-Joseph 420 Nuits” is magnificent), Vasco Urruty Perdigao heads this estate, which boasts beautiful terroirs in Sablet, Rasteau, and Vacqueyras. Together with his wife Sonia, they form a duo of innovative and passionate winemakers. They have been working toward organic farming for several years, and have made significant strides in winemaking techniques. This estate is really on the rise! Well done!
