Rating: Robert Parker 95/100, RVF 15.5/20, Bettane & Desseauve 15.5/20
“Deep purple in color, with notes of bouquet garni, blackberry, kirsch, smoke, and truffle, this magnificent wine is full-bodied and rich, and opens up even better than last year’s vintage. It needs 3 to 5 years of cellaring and should improve over 25 to 30 years, as is the case with most of the great vintages for which Château de Beaucastel is renowned.” (The Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 3 stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Over the past 15 years, the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel has expanded by acquiring estates in the southern Rhône Valley. This strategy has proven successful both in the Luberon, with La Vieille Ferme, and in the other terroirs featured here. Their mastery of fermentation and appropriate aging techniques have played a major role in this success.

No, really not. How could Parker have given this wine a 95? It's a mystery...
