“Golden, round, easy-drinking, with lovely fullness.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2019 - RVF) Made primarily from Grenache Gris and Blanc, with some Macabeu and Roussane, this Roussillon wine offers lovely depth, thanks to its elegant tannic structure, notes of white-fleshed fruit, and a hint of petrol. A perfect dining wine for summer Mediterranean dishes, such as grilled calamari.

Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Divided into a dozen plots covering an equal number of hectares, this estate’s spectacular vineyard is primarily planted on steep clay and schist slopes overlooking the Mediterranean. It is an estate with a long tradition, but one that seems to have lost its momentum in recent vintages.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Founded in 1982, this 13-hectare estate brings together the vineyards of Vincent Cantié (in Collioure) and Christine Campadieu (in Banyuls), both of whom come from long-established winemaking families. The estate overlooks the sea from the hills above Collioure. It produces consistently high-quality wines, both natural sweet wines and dry wines.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 14/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the wine:

Golden, round, easy-drinking, with a lovely fullness of body.

About the estate:

Vincent Cantié is fully committed to the demanding art of winemaking on the Côte Vermeille. He strives to capture, in both dry and fortified wines, the character of the grapes—primarily Black Grenache—grown on clay and schist soils. The dry wines are now remarkably consistent, and the Banyuls are always excellent.
