Domaine La Tour Vieille
The estate The Old Tower In the heart of Roussillon, where vineyards meet the sea, Vincent Cantié in Collioure—who founded the estate in 1982—and Christine Campadieu in Banyuls have joined forces, continuing the region’s winemaking tradition. The vineyard of The Old Tower covers a total of 13 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 40 years, situated in a majestic setting at elevations of up to 220 meters above sea level.
Grenache reigns supreme on the Côte Vermeille, being the only grape variety authorized for producing Banyuls wines, whereas in Collioure, other varieties enrich the wines’ aromatic profile: Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Maccabeu, and Roussanne.
On predominantly schist-based soil, the vines are planted on terraces—particularly in Banyuls—where all work is done by hand, and the vineyards are managed sustainably, drawing on organic principles and with respect for the environment.
La Tour Vieille produces white, red, and rosé Collioure wines, as well as two Banyuls wines—one white and one red. The collection is impressive, of unquestionable quality, and transports us to its vineyards with emotion and admiration. A fine ambassador for the wines of Roussillon.
