Notes: Robert Parker 95/100, RVF 18.5/20
"Already more open and voluptuous, the 2011 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Coume Gineste reveals nuances of plum, herbs, sage, rosemary, tar, and licorice. This full-bodied, complex wine appeals to hedonists, yet remains remarkably elegant and transparent, with ultra-fine tannins and length. It is the most affordable wine in the range, but nevertheless has good structure and concentration, and can be aged for 15 years." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Wine rated (2014 guide) 18,5/20 (Great wine)
Rated estate (2024 guide) 3 stars (These represent the excellence of French vineyards. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment.)
About wine:
Coume Gineste 2011 is perhaps the red wine that offers the most aromatic delicacy this year, but it is also more closed, very dense and deep in its rich texture.
About the estate:
Since his beginnings in the mid-1980s, Gérard Gauby has been an inspiring, demanding, and passionate winemaker. His vines are cultivated with love and respect for the plants and the ecosystem. He has revealed to the world the complexity and potential of the Calce terroir with its limestone and ferruginous schist soils. The winemaker has also successfully evolved his style towards less mature, purer and more airy wines. Accompanied by his son, he continues this quest, with his vintages gaining in expression and deliciousness. The whites are very straightforward, with superb longevity and controlled aging. The reds are pure and deep. The 2021 vintage is reaching new heights in both colors.
