Médaille d'Or

Gilbert & Gaillard

“Deep color with violet hues. The nose offers spicy, smoky notes of licorice and stone fruit, with hints of spice. The palate is supple, concluding its distinctly Mediterranean aromatic journey with a full-bodied, dense minerality. Beautiful volume envelops a finely chiseled structure.” (Le Guide du Vin 2017 - Gilbert & Gaillard)

Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

All that remains of the building constructed in the 12th century by Cistercian monks is the magnificent tower clinging to the rock face. Jean and Bernard Dauré purchased the estate in 1974. The mid-19th-century silkworm farm now houses the Contemporary Art Space, which sits next to one of the first winemaker-run restaurants established in France, open during the summer. The vineyard covers 90 hectares.
