Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
The sanguine Jean Pull, a blend of Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah, is quite composed on the palate, with a peppery character.
About the estate:
The Soulanes estate was created in 2002 by Cathy and Daniel Laffite in the Maury region. The couple had previously worked on these same terroirs for over ten years alongside the former owner before acquiring part of the property. The vineyards are located at the foot of the rocky peaks dominated by the Château de Queribus. The estate's wines are full-bodied yet balanced, energetic and intense.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 01/07/2025
A very southern cuvée, powerful and full-bodied, built around a core of ripe black fruits enhanced by a hint of pepper and well coated in a juicy, silky texture, underscored by a touch of acidity. In addition, a tannic finish that lingers on licorice and spices. Simple and immediate pleasure, although this wine can wait a little longer. Affordable price. Its distinctive character was paired with Catalan charcuterie tapas, followed by spiced pulled pork accompanied by glazed winter vegetables. Rating = 4.
