About the wine:
The dry Maury Les Salines 2022, a parcel selection of Grenache and Carignan, is a very fine wine for laying down, powerful, with thick tannins, but still easy to digest, with a beautiful underlying dynamism and just the right amount of fruit.
About the domain :
Domaine des Soulanes was created in 2002 by Cathy and Daniel Laffite, in the Maury area. The couple had previously worked these same terroirs for over ten years, alongside the previous owner, before acquiring part of the property. The vineyards lie at the foot of the rocky peaks dominated by Château de Queribus. The estate's wines express themselves in a fleshy yet fair, energetic and intense style.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 20/11/2024
A wine of character, Cuvée Les Salines impresses with its rise in quality over recent vintages. The soft, fresh attack opens up a full, sunny palate where the power, energy and crunchy fruitiness of black cherry and blackberry are expressed without restraint, intermixed with notes of spice and an underlying earthy touch. The firm, silky texture of the tannins gives a pleasant sensation of thickness and softness. The mineral terroir is reflected in the slight saline tension on the finish. A fine wine for laying down, but one that can be enjoyed now, for example with a Catalan-style saddle of suckling lamb (rancio+cognac sauce) and white rice. Score ÷ 4.1.
