Arnaud de Villeneuve - Rivesaltes Ambré 1970 (VDN)
3*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"We've waited almost half a century to discover this splendid amber. Admittedly, the original blond gold has taken on the amber color with auburn highlights of the patina of time, but the look is still lively, brilliant and welcoming. On the nose, the aromas of white flowers and fresh fruit have disappeared, replaced by softer scents of honey, gingerbread, candied orange and incense, though still with the original "spiciness" of Morello cherry. A note that can also be perceived in a devilishly melted and tender palate, surprisingly ample and supple, with a lovely freshness to back it up. A Rivesaltes of magnificent finesse, a fine wine to touch. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)
