Arnaud de Villeneuve
In the 13th century, Arnaud de Villeneuve, a physician and philosopher by profession, learned the process of distillation during his travels in the East and, through his research, discovered the benefits of “blending grape juice with its own brandy.” His work led him to understand the process of fortification, used in particular to produce Rivesaltes, that renowned naturally sweet wine. In naming himself Arnaud de Villeneuve, the Cave Coopérative wanted to pay tribute to him in this way.

Arnaud de Villeneuve is a cooperative winery founded in 1909, originally under the name Salses le Château. Today, it has nearly 300 member winemakers, all of whom operate in accordance with sustainable development guidelines.
The 2,000 hectares of vineyards under cultivation enable the winery to Arnaud de Villeneuve to offer a wide selection of wines from the region: Côtes du Roussillon, Muscat de Rivesaltes, Vins de Pays...
