With its attractive amber color and coppery, golden highlights, this Rivesaltes is made from Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc, and Macabeu grapes grown on clay-limestone and schist soil. An intense nose of walnuts, dates, blond tobacco, and candied orange peel gives way to a palate that strikes a balance between freshness, sweetness, and complexity. The rancio leaves its mark with aromas of dried fruit, spices, and wood.
