With a lovely amber color and coppery and golden highlights, this Rivesaltes is made from Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc, and Macabeu grapes grown on a terroir of clay, limestone, and schist. An intense nose of nuts, dates, light tobacco, and candied orange peel gives way to a palate that strikes a balance between freshness, sweetness, and complexity. The rancio leaves its mark with aromas of dried fruit, spices, and wood.
