Le Clos d'un Jour was founded by Véronique and Stéphane Azémar in 1999. Eager to work together in the great outdoors on an exciting product without intermediaries, they brought a fresh perspective to this vineyard, which was in the midst of a revival.
Le Clos d’un Jour is located on the third terrace of the Lot, renowned for producing rich wines suitable for aging. The estate’s small size allows for meticulous care of each plot, 90% of which is planted with Malbec, the appellation’s original and iconic grape variety. In keeping with a constant commitment to respecting the terroir, no chemical treatments are used, and all work is done by hand, with sheep from Ouessant entrusted with the task of mowing. The vineyards of Le Clos d'une Jour have been in the process of converting to organic farming for the past three years
