The color is clear, a deep, intense red. The nose, as powerful as it is charming, blends fruity notes with hints of violet and spices so characteristic of Négrette, combined here with Syrah. The palate is both rich and refined, full-bodied without being heavy, infused with cherry and wild strawberry flavors that linger delightfully on the finish, supported by perfectly integrated oak (aged in 400-liter barrels and casks) and silky-smooth tannins. Irresistible. (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Le Roc is one of Fronton's leading wines. The range is extensive, and each vintage of the top wines demonstrates that Fronton can produce wines with depth and real aging potential. This is proven with each new tasting of a wine from the estate that is over 10 years old, which always surprises with its youthfulness.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 93/100
Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
Slightly less expressive today, Don Quichotte is in the same vein, with a slightly more velvety pulp and slightly more supple and diverse tannins.
About the estate:
With the arrival of Grégoire and Anne Ribes, the Ribes family decided to take over the vineyards of Château Flotis, a neighboring property that they were already farming. Its 21 hectares of Syrah and Négrette grapes on a stony hillside thus swelled the ranks of Le Roc. The Négrette grapes are always treated with the utmost care thanks to meticulous and increasingly modern winemaking techniques, giving the wines a radiant profile.

Review and opinion by Mr. MATHIEU W. Published on 07/13/2025
Deep cherry red color with purple core. Nose: floral, violets, ripe dark fruit, blackberry, cherry, and plum. Forest soil and wild strawberries, as well as warm jam. Nicely concentrated and layered. On the palate, ripe red and dark fruit, lots of juice, lots of fruit, followed by fairly strong, fine-grained tannins. Medium body and ditto finish, fine acidity and nice freshness. Also spiciness, bay leaf. The wine can mature for another 2 to 3 years. But now with a grilled sausage and homemade fries: a treat! Score: 16/20

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 04/30/2025
An exciting discovery of this modern and elegant evocation of a flattering and sensual Négrette that distills a generous, mellow, and velvety juice, enhanced by a gentle freshness, with explosive, crunchy red fruit flavors accompanied by a procession of floral and spicy notes, set against a lovely smoky background left by very well-executed aging. Ideally, it should be left to age a little longer to dispel the slight astringency that is still present on the finish. Guaranteed pleasure at a very reasonable price. This young and flavorful Don Quichotte has already delighted guests when paired with a Basque-style chicken sauté with Bayonne ham. Rating = 4.2.

A flavorful wine with a pleasant woody note. Served as an aperitif, it is unanimously appreciated by drinkers.
