A wine with a new style—fruity and spicy—Torus is the result of a selection of vines under 20 years old from the Montus and Bouscassé terroirs. It offers freshness, fruit, and spice, showcasing the local Tannat grape variety and the terroir. A concentrated red, focused on fruit, with body, suppleness, depth, and a finish that melts into spicy notes... A modern and bold Madiran!

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated Estate (2023 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the excellence of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
Alain Brumont has forged his own identity through a style that has sent wines from Madiran around the world under the Château Montus label, which he acquired in 1980. Often defying conventional wisdom, Brumont’s vintages reflect his great freedom in interpreting terroirs with yellow and red clay subsoils, varying in composition from 20 to 40 percent. Tannat is featured in the château’s three wines—Prestige, XL, Montus, and La Tyre—and undoubtedly delivers the most spectacular profile of this Pyrenean grape, which is not easy to work with.
