The Torus dry white wine is made from a selection of vines under 15 years old, grown on the finest terroirs of Montus and Bouscassé, boasting a pedigree of exceptional quality. A wine of great freshness, with citrus notes (lemon, orange...), and a lovely liveliness. An immediate delight!

Rated Estate (2023 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

Alain Brumont has forged his own distinctive style, sending wines from Madiran across the globe under the Château Montus label, which he acquired in 1980. Often bucking conventional wisdom, Brumont’s vintages reflect his great freedom in interpreting terroirs with yellow and red clay subsoils, which vary in composition from 20% to 40%. Tannat is featured in the château’s three cuvées—Prestige, XL, Montus, and La Tyre—and undoubtedly delivers the most spectacular profile of this challenging Pyrenean grape.
