"The excellence of the old vines at the Alheit estate: considered magnificent, captivating, harmonious, and sophisticated..."
"This wonderfully fresh, creamy, and textured white wine offers aromas and flavors of sliced pears, mango pits, pomelo peel, shellfish, and honey. It is medium-bodied, with lively acidity and saline freshness. The finish is long, flavorful, and precise. Made from old vines on Skurfberg (Citrusdal Mountain). Drink now or hold." About wine:
Huilkrans 2024 is a pure Chenin made from bush vines planted between 1974 and 1989 at an altitude of 450 meters. It is quite discreet on the nose, with very appealing aromas of yellow plum, brioche, mandarin, and light wax. The palate is well-balanced, with lovely tension and elegance, and the minerality comes through nicely on the finish. Very harmonious, this wine is perhaps one of Chris Alheit's most elegant cuvées this year. Sophisticated. 2026-2039
