“The excellence of the old vines at the Alheit estate: described as magnificent, captivating, harmonious, and sophisticated...”
“This wonderfully fresh, creamy, and textured white wine offers aromas and flavors of sliced pears, mango pits, pomelo peel, shellfish, and honey. It is medium-bodied, with lively acidity and a briny freshness. The finish is long, savory, and precise. Made from old vines on Skurfberg (Mount Citrusdal). Drink now or cellar.” (James Suckling 2025)

About the wine:
The Huilkrans 2024 is a pure Chenin made from bush-trained vines planted between 1974 and 1989 at an altitude of 450 meters. It is quite subtle on the nose, with very appealing aromas of yellow plum, brioche, mandarin, and a hint of wax. The palate is well-balanced, with lovely tension and elegance, and the minerality comes through pleasantly on the finish. Very harmonious, this wine is perhaps one of Chris Alheit’s most elegant vintages this year. Sophisticated. 2026–2039
