About the estate:
Located in Ammerschwihr, a major wine-growing village northwest of Colmar, this winery celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2014. Its 17th-century cellars house old oak barrels that are still in use. It combines a wine merchant operation with a biodynamically farmed vineyard.

Jancis Robinson
Wine rated (2023 guide) 17/20
About the wine:
Less flavorful than the Kaefferkopf, with more citrus but also an enticing hint of tart quince. Slightly smoky, as if there were a subtle, alluring note of reduction—or perhaps the smoky note of spontaneous fermentation? At first, this wine seems a bit sweeter and rounder, with a less firm texture, but it gradually reveals itself to be dense and complex, while retaining a mouth-watering freshness, with a long, pure citrus finish.

About the wine:
Dense granite soils. The bouquet of this Wineck-Schlossberg reveals a pleasant freshness along with a hint of maturity. Subtle notes of lemongrass and flint. The wine combines tension and body. A harmonious Riesling with a crystalline, briny finish. It is well-suited for aging.
