"Finely exotic on the nose, Saering is bursting with energy and offers greedy chewiness and dry extract: its density and depth excite us." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF). A pure, subtle Riesling.

Rated wine 94/100

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the wine:

A little saltier than Spiegel, more taut and straightforward, with a root-like nuance in the fragrances, a lovely style, this wine is spicy (literally) and will evolve well.

About the domain :

An emblematic Bergholtz estate for two generations now. The 18 hectares of biodynamic vineyards are the result of the union of Jean Dirler and Ludivine Cadé. In the range, the fine terroirs of Saering, Kitterlé, Kessler and especially Spiegel have great ageing potential, allowing the slight residual sugars to melt away.

Wine rated ( 2021 guide) 95/100 Favorite

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment)

About the wine:

Finely exotic on the nose, the Saering is bursting with energy, offering gourmet chewiness and dry extract: its density and depth enthrall us.

About the domain :

Sensitive and experienced winemakers, Jean Dirler and his wife Ludivine are at the helm of this estate, founded in 1871, handed down from father to son for five generations, and biodynamic since 1998. Whatever the grape variety, the wines' precision, density and maturity have never been better: an impressive range of great dry white wines culminates in the magnificent expressions of the Spiegel, Saering, Kessler and Kitterlé grands crus, which are a must-discover and are now named after the four elements (fire, air, earth, water). This house offers an outstanding welcome, and many wines are available in older vintages. The exceptional quality of the entire range in recent vintages has earned the house its third star this year.
