Wine rated (2025 guide) 93/100
Rated estate (2023 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
An iconic Bergholtz estate for two generations now. The 18 hectares cultivated using biodynamic methods are the result of the partnership between Jean Dirler and Ludivine Cadé. Within the lineup, the fine terroirs of Saering, Kitterlé, Kessler, and especially Spiegel offer great aging potential, allowing the slight residual sugars to integrate fully.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100
Rated estate (2025 guide): 3*Stars (These represent the pinnacle of French winemaking. The finest terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical experience.)
About the wine:
An admirable Muscat Saering—refined and distinguished, with great clarity of flavor, perfectly dry, and lingering on the finish with its savory bitterness.
About the estate:
Jean Dirler and his wife Ludivine, sensitive and seasoned winemakers, expertly steer this estate founded in 1871, which has been passed down from father to son for five generations and has been cultivated biodynamically since 1998. Regardless of the grape variety, the precision, depth, and ripeness of the wines have never been more accomplished: an impressive range of great dry white wines culminates in the magnificent expressions of the Spiegel, Saering, Kessler, and Kitterlé grands crus—which are an absolute must-try—and which are now named after the four elements (fire, air, earth, water). This estate offers a remarkable welcome, and many wines are available in older vintages. The exceptional quality of the entire range in the most recent vintages has earned it its third star this year.

Review by Mr. PATRICK D. Posted on January 17, 2026
It’s very fizzy when first opened, which is really unpleasant. But after decanting, it’s a truly pleasant surprise. An explosion of fruit, with very pronounced and powerful Muscat aromas and perfect balance. It’s delicious.
