"The aromas of fresh green apple have a pleasant earthy touch. The palate takes this green apple freshness and wraps it completely in creamy, expressive notes of yeast, earth and cream. The wonderful freshness gives it a light, airy feel. The finish is utterly clean, and makes you want to come back to it again and again." (Wine Enthusiast 2018) Fresh Organic bubbles!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

The Rieflé family, Jean-Claude and his sons Thomas and Paul, expanded their vineyard when they took over Seppi Landmann's plots, and now their vines stretch from Pfaffenheim to Soultzmatt, at the bottom of the Noble valley. The viticulture is extremely meticulous, with careful thought given to soil conservation, and this has been evident in the wines tasted over the last few vintages. All the more so as Jean-Claude Rieflé has returned from his trials with natural wines, which had more than intrigued us a few years ago. Their terroir wines express a gastronomic salinity.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France

Domaine noté (guide 2020) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

For the Rieflé family, it's a family affair: the first winegrower in the line appeared as early as 1830. Today, Thomas looks after the vines, Paul is in charge of marketing and Jean-Claude, the father, makes the wine. But it's their daily dialogue that drives the estate forward. The 2011 vintage, marked by the purchase of the famous Seppi Landmann estate, coincides with the start of a vinification process in search of greater purity: more fat and texture, but without the sugars, and slightly longer ageing on fine lees. A new packaging also promises greater clarity in the range on offer. Finally, note the entry-level wines, which can be blends: L'Éclat, a dry wine, L'Aplomb, round and full-bodied, L'Arabesque aromatic. L'Étoffe in red.

Leave to age for a few months. Not thrilled when opened (little nose, flat in the mouth), more appreciated the next day.
